How is my privacy protected?
When you deposit, a cryptographic commitment is stored on-chain — not your address or amount. When the note is redeemed, a zero-knowledge proof confirms the note is valid without revealing which deposit it came from. No on-chain link between sender and receiver exists.
What if I lose my note?
The note is your only key. If lost, the funds in that shield slot cannot be recovered by anyone — including the protocol. Scan notes to your phone wallet immediately after shielding, and keep a text backup in encrypted storage.
Can a note be used twice?
No. Each note has a unique nullifier that is recorded on-chain the moment it's redeemed. Any second attempt with the same note will revert. This is enforced by the smart contract, not the UI.
What are PRIVX mining rewards?
Merchants who redeem notes earn PRIVX tokens from the PrivX Pay Mining Vault. Rewards scale with denomination — larger bills earn more PRIVX per redemption. Rewards reduce proportionally as the vault empties and refill when the community tops it up.
Who controls the contracts?
The PrivX Pay shields are fully immutable after deployment — no admin can pause, upgrade, or confiscate funds. The protocol fee (0.5%) and mining rewards are set at construction and cannot be changed.
