Vault Health Zones
▲ 150%+ — Safe. Can mint & withdraw freely.
◆ 110–150% — Cannot mint. Add collateral or repay. Redeemable.
▼ <110% — Liquidatable. Bonus decays 10% → 2% over 3 hours. First mover wins.
All vaults are redeemable against at oracle price — no CR filter. Target 175%+ to absorb ETH volatility.
How bSunDAI Works
1. What is bSunDAI?
bSunDAI is an ETH-collateralized stable asset on Base Chain. Lock ETH, mint bSunDAI (targeting $1 USD). No admin, no governance, fully autonomous once deployed.
2. Deposit ETH → Mint bSunDAI
Deposit native ETH (auto-wraps to WETH internally). Minimum 150% collateral ratio to mint. Auto mode mints at 155% in one transaction.
3. Repay requires approval
Unlike pSunDAI, bSunDAI repayment requires a standard ERC20 approval first. Click Repay and approve in MetaMask, then confirm again to complete the repay.
4. Oracle: Hybrid Chainlink + V3 TWAP
Committed Price: Steps conservatively — accepts small moves (≤2% down, ≤5% up) instantly. Larger moves require confirmation (4h down, 30min up). Used for minting and withdrawal safety.
Chainlink Warning Track: If Chainlink stays 3%+ below committed price for 30 continuous minutes, liquidations switch to live Chainlink — hard-clamped to within 15% of committed price, so a bad feed read or extreme volatility can never push liquidation pricing arbitrarily far. Flash crashes recover in minutes; real crashes don't.
5. Liquidations (Inverted Dutch Auction)
Vaults below 110% CR can be liquidated. Bonus starts at 10% and decays to 2% over 3 hours. First mover wins — act immediately for the highest bonus. Requires bSunDAI approval before liquidating. Partial liquidations must repay at least 20% of the vault's debt. The Stability Pool can also absorb eligible vaults atomically — see below.
6. Stability Pool
Deposit bSunDAI into the Stability Pool (no vault required) to help absorb liquidations atomically. Anyone can then call liquidateFromStabilityPool(user) permissionlessly on an eligible vault — the caller gets a small flat tip (0.5%) as gas compensation, and the rest of the liquidation bonus (ETH) goes to Stability Pool depositors pro-rata, alongside a continuous share of the 0.5% stability fee minted directly as yield. Withdraw anytime; claim pending ETH gains without withdrawing via the Claim tab.
7. Redemptions
Any holder can redeem bSunDAI for $1 of ETH from any vault at oracle price. 0.5% fee stays with the vault owner. This enforces the $1 floor — if bSunDAI ever trades below $1, arbitrageurs buy and redeem. See Vault Dashboard for the Redeem tab.
8. Emergency Functions
Emergency Unlock: Zero debt + last deposit older than 30 days → withdraw regardless of oracle.
Emergency Repay / Withdraw: If oracle is catastrophically failed for 7+ days.
9. Protocol Tools (anyone can call)
Reconcile: Net surplus buffer against bad debt on-chain.
Refresh Oracle: Advance oracle state machine.
Clear Bad Debt: Voluntarily unwind an underwater vault — repay bSunDAI pro-rata and receive collateral pro-rata (no bonus, since the vault is underwater by definition, a caller can never profit — this is a loss-taking cleanup action).
Settle Debt: Burn your bSunDAI to cancel accumulated bad debt.
